Chen supporters counter-attack in Taiwan
Tens of thousands of supporters of Taiwan's President Chen Shui-bian are set to march in Taipei in a show of strength just one day after 300,000 people angrily called for his resignation.
Chen's ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), keen to counter-attack after Friday's mass rally against the embattled independence-minded leader, issued an emergency order to mobilize party members nationwide.
That call lifted projected turnout to as many as 100,000 -- more than double the 40,000 people the Taiwan Society, a pro-government group that organized Saturday's event, was expecting to see in the streets of Taipei.

Taiwan president says he wants clean politics as demonstrators protest speech

(AP) - TAIPEI, Taiwan-President Chen Shui-bian called for unity Tuesday as an opposition lawmaker scuffled with security guards while trying to confront the Taiwanese leader during a National Day speech.
Chen spoke as tens of thousands (譯﹕數萬)of red-clad protesters gathered in the broad boulevard outside the Presidential Office building, demanding that he step down over a series of alleged corruption scandals.

台北市長馬英九動用「市長特別費」，領養流浪狗「馬小九」，遭質疑公款私用後，才還回了九千九百元；現在，台北街頭就要出現一群「政治流浪狗」，也是馬英九的最愛，他會不會公器私用，揮霍市民生活安寧的公共利益，領養政治流浪狗？
政治流浪狗從何而來？倒扁總部違法發動「天下圍攻」，嚴重影響交通及社會安寧，各方強烈指責，據聞，馬市長也震怒，北市警方隨後廢止倒扁總部在凱達格蘭大道的集會許可；倒扁總部發言人張富忠回應說，要我們當流浪狗，我們就用「流浪狗」的打法。
兼國民黨主席的馬英九為挺倒扁紅軍，不但動用黨的資源，更以市長公權力大開惡例，方便倒扁紅軍抗爭，對於倒扁總部發動天下圍攻等諸多違法行為，他更未積極處理，顯然縱容。
馬市長「縱容」倒扁紅軍，所有市民被迫付出交通癱瘓、生活受擾等公共利益的巨大代價，這些其實都是民有、民用、民享的一種「市民特別費」，卻被馬市長挪用去政治揮霍，「孝敬」施明德及倒扁紅軍，嚴重侵害人民權益。
一個多月來，馬英九揮霍公共利益為倒扁紅軍服務，市民還沒跟他算這筆帳，馬英九如果繼續揮霍公共利益，侵佔「市民特別費」，以收容、供養他所寵愛的倒扁政治流浪狗，那麼，台北市民人人有權向馬市長求償

據台媒報道，針對10月10日台“倒扁”總部發起的“天下圍攻”行動，台“反贪腐倒扁活動”總指揮施明德今天在記者會上公布细節、行動路線、穿着等相關計劃，活動將在10日9點啓動，並號召200萬群衆当天走上街头，展現打倒贪腐的決心。最後施明德还呼籲活動当天，台灣軍警人员請严守中立，不要成爲陳水扁個人私欲的工具。
據台灣《東森新闻》報道，“天下圍攻”活動确定于10月10日上午9點准时舉行，屆时預計將會有200萬群衆走上街头，包圍台總统府，之前曾經傳出爲了不愿和百萬“紅衫軍”正面相對，陳水扁有意取消雙十慶典活動，爲此，施明德今天表示，陳水扁如果因此不辦的话，那么他愿意幫他来辦，因爲，不辦雙十慶典实際上對陳水扁的傷害會更大。
而10日当天預計將會有200萬人上街头，施明德说，這200萬人就足以代表台灣的1000萬民衆，從9月9日到今天，台“倒扁运動”已經破了全世界紀录，他却覺得很遗憾，因爲完全没有看到陳水扁或任何台行政院的相關人员出来回應，陳水扁还把台灣民衆当作烏云，他痛批陳水扁這種心態“真是可惡”。
報道稱，施明德强調，陳水扁心中根本没有台灣人民，不過他得小心人民若真是烏云，烏云雖有时會飄去，但有时也會變成傾盆大雨！施明德表示，陳水扁長期以来以自己的私心来提拔台軍高级將領，這樣的聲音在島內軍警界中早有傳闻。施明德批评，陳水扁任用自己人馬，打破軍警的管理制度跟倫理，陳水扁這樣破坏倫理，會遭到報應跟反擊。
施明德还呼籲台灣軍警界中的高级將領，不論是如何取得官階的，請大家務必記得严守中立化，不要让自己成爲陳水扁個人私欲的工具，在“天下圍攻”活動期間，不但要謹守分寸、保持中立，也不要輕舉妄動手中的武器，施明德强調，不然所招惹的後果，是全體台灣民衆不愿看到的。
台倒扁總部：“天下圍攻”只針對陳水扁一人
台倒扁總部强調“愛與和平”的抗爭方式，手系黃丝帶，帶背包，也呼籲“挺扁”的民衆不要挑衅，雙方各自表述立場。
台倒扁總部表示，不會幹扰雙十會貴賓入場，只針對陳水扁一個人。而這項“天下圍攻”行動，管制區初步是與当时“圍城游行”的管制行動類似。
